2nd Cook
Position Summary
As 2nd Cook, you are responsible for assisting the cook to ensure the kitchen performs to the highest standard possible. The 1st Cook has the final decision.
General Duties
Your duties include but are not limited to the following:- Duties as assigned by Chef or 1st cook.
- Ensure kitchen & dining areas (chairs, tables, walls and ceilings) are cleaned on a regular basis.
- Prepare rig-box (hot meals going to personnel working on the rig). The rig-box meals should be identical to the meal served in camp.
- Make sure there is an ample supply of condiments on the service table at all times.
- Prepare and set-up full salad bar featuring a variety of salads (four to six).
- Assist in stock taking and any duties that the cook may deem necessary. Care and rotation of all fruits and vegetables in fridges and storeroom.
- Wash all dishes; pots and cutlery, ensuring all are sanitized.
- Assist in loading and unloading groceries, and putting away properly.
- Prepare sandwiches and present them in an orderly fashion.
- Fill and clean juice dispensers, coffee maker, water cooler etc. Keep service area clean.
- Assist the cook with preparation of meals, baking etc. If an emergency occurs you can take over the cook duties, for a short period of time if required.
